Speech Therapy for Stuttering in Children- Lidcombe Program
What is the Lidcombe Program?

The Lidcombe program is a treatment program for children who stutter. It is an individualized and non-invasive treatment to promote fluent speech.

How does it work?

It is critical to the success of the treatment that parents are involved. The main component of the program requires parents to provide feedback on stuttering and stutter free speech during conversations with their children every day. Our speech-language pathologists teach parents how to conduct the program. We will ensure that parents are presenting feedback safely and correctly. At the start of the Lidcombe Program, parents learn to provide feedback in a structured environment. When the parent has mastered skills, feedback is introduced into everyday, unstructured situations.
