READING, WRITING AND LITERACY
Reading, Writing and Literacy
Literacy is an essential prerequisite for social well being, academic achievement, and lifetime opportunities. Speech-language pathologists play an important role in ensuring that all children gain access to appropriate instruction in reading, writing and spelling.
Our therapists will provide direct therapy to improve your child’s phonemic awareness, reading fluency, reading comprehension (understanding what he/she reads), vocabulary development, spelling and writing. We have access to a wide variety of resources targeting reading and writing skills. We will identify your child’s areas of difficulty and provide evidence- based strategies to improve and re-mediate literacy skills. We will also work with your child’s school team and provide classroom based strategies to ensure carryover and generalization.
